He has professional ties with Wits Business School, UCT GSB, Henley Business School, CASS Business School and The University of the Free State where he lectures and externally moderates in the fields of strategic management and strategic marketing. Sean combines his experience as a general manager, first at Nedbank and then Investec, with 10 years as a full time academic in the practice of strategy and innovation to help family owned businesses exploit their current opportunities, explore new pockets of sustainable advantage and enhance the benefits of a family based corporate culture.


Sean has received multiple awards including business leadership and performance awards from Old Mutual and Nedbank and he was the top lecturer at Wits Business School in 2004 and 2007.  In 2007 he received the Ambassador of Norway award from Oslo University for the most outstanding faculty on the International Grunderskolen programme for entrepreneurship and innovation, beating lecturers from San Francisco, New York, Singapore and Hong Kong.  More recently Sean has become a sought after strategy facilitator and business coach to venture capital funds like the Allan Gray e-Squared fund where he is currently a board advisor to HouseMe a disruptive property rental platform, MediaMeasure a media analytics and compliance business and Jonga a low cost security monitoring and community response platform.  Sean has designed and facilitated strategy and innovation programs for large and small companies across 17 African countries.
